Next geneneration consoles too early?

The original Xbox console had a decent lifespan of a little over four year, launching in 2001 and then being retired in 2005 with the drop of the new Xbox 360.  It had a great lifespan, birthing such gaming franchises as the Halo saga, Forza motorsport, and Fable, and it introduced the amazing Xbox live feature in 2002.  Fast-forward to the present day and we have the Xbox 360 console with a whole new list of hit games as in the ending of the Halo saga, Assassins creed. and the upgraded Xbox live experience. On the flip side, there’s the Playstation 2 and Playstation 3 consoles both still out, each with their own major titles and online services.  The PS2 still running it course to this day with the PS3.  With that in mind, could it be still to early to start thinking about the next Generation?  After all, it’s been only four years sinch the release of the Xbox 360. I personally believe all we need is an upgrade.  The fact of the matter is, this generation will outlast any previous one, and by a good distant margin. And could possibly go further with just a couple upgrades, as in, inter cooler fans for the Xbox 360 to keep the system cooler you be the judge…
