Microsoft concede to use Steam’s Service for Fable3

After the announcement of Portal 2 and the intertwined exclusive feature of steam and cross-platform gaming on PS3 and PC, many Xbox360 users really expected Microsoft to allow such features extended to XboxLive, the notion I 100% don’t agree with. I’ve been a Steam user for years now, but i will neglect that topic for my editorial on the said network merger.

So, Microsoft Game Studios and Lionhead announced that Fable 3 for Windows will be available through Valve’s distribution Platform, STEAM. This announcement will surely going down well with PC gamers, including myself simply because i want to have all my games tied to an account, for the sake of management. Now PC gamers will have even more choices because Fable 3 will be available in Retail Stores, Steam and of course on Games for Windows Marketplace.

“Fable III” will be available for pre-order on both Steam and Games for Windows Marketplace starting 21 April. Fans who pre-order through Games for Windows Marketplace will receive “Fable: Lost Chapters” – the start of the Fable saga – for free! And those who purchase on Steam will receive the Rebel’s Weapon & Tattoo Pack, a collection of four exclusive weapons and five exclusive tattoo sets to customize their rebel hero.

No matter how players decide to purchase “Fable III,” they will have access to the same exciting content as  the Xbox 360 players, including riveting Game Add-ons like Traitor’s Keep, in addition to new features like a more challenging “Hardcore” mode and 3-D functionality.

Fable 3 for PC will be available from all 3 locations respectively at launch on May 20th or can be Pre-ordered as from April 21st, check on these 2 Platforms and your local retail store for prices.
