Left 4 Dead 2 It’s all over now…

Okay I know the title sounds a bit ominous, maybe inciting feelings or thoughts that would lead on to believe L4D2 has lost it’s player base. It is not so I assure you.  ”It’s all over now” means your fucking life is over! The new mutation will wreck and destroy! So yeah “IT’S ALL OVER NOW!!!”

Taaaaaaaaanks! is the new mutation for Left 4 Dead 2 this week, in honor of ***spoiler*** of all the damn tanks that pop up in the Sacrifice Finale. In this mutation, a variant of vs mode, all super infected are TANKS, yeah do you get it now? Completely and utterly ruined is the proper way to describe the survivor team’s chances of winning. I know common sense would tell rush through the map and to the safe room well the kiddies at valve put some forethought into the matter and came up with this delicate solution: When survivors rush, reduce infected respawn time… I’ll give you a moment to take it in or scream or whatever you are doing right now cause I’m sure its not a pleasant thought for any survivor.

As I said before the tank mutation was in honor of the new campaign “The Sacrifice” where; I’m sure everyone knows by now, the old crew (Louis, Zoey, Bill, and Frank) Make their way to the location in the Finale of “The Passing” campaign. I’m sure most of us have played through passing so no spoiler alert here kids, Bill is dead in that finale. Well, as you play the Finale of the Sacrifice you find out exactly why ole Bill is dead in the passing. And just like before this ones only 3 chapters long which is slightly disappointing but I will take what I can get as long as the content remains good and relative to the game and campaign. This campaign also comes with a few more achievements for the over achiever in all of us. The most intense of these is starting all 3 generators at the same time for the finale to begin, as opposed to the much more rational, sane, and safer idea of starting them in a sequence(they alert horde and tanks thus the tank mutation). Now the other would be based upon who actually makes the sacrifice, as in who goes back to turn on the final generator to end the finale, if it is Bill you achieve kill bill, otherwise you get zip. There are a few infected achievements like killing the person trying to sacrifice themselves, but whats especially neat is the sacrifice is also available for the orginal L4D making more than a few fans happy. But valve loves their fans so they went a bit further and gave the kiddies of L4D2 No Mercy as a campaign making them feel all nostalgic. The voices of the original crew were sorely missed but, I didn’t realize it till the first “Zoeeeey!” This is definitely some fan service for us hardcore fans and a score for the perfectionist kids who need the intricacies of the game explained.
