EA: We respect Tiger’s privacy

Despite Tiger Woods’ reported transgressions and public spectacle over his marriage woes, EA is standing by him for the foreseeable future of the PGA Tour franchise. Reuters reports that most of his sponsors are continuing their current business deals with the pro golfer, and that includes the software giant. “Our strong relationship with Tiger for more than a decade remains unchanged,” wrote EA in a statement. “We respect Tiger’s privacy, we wish him a fast recovery and we look forward to seeing him back on the golf course.”

In case you somehow avoided the news over the last few days, the Woods scandal was sparked by a late night car accident and the bizarre news that his wife had broken his window with a golf club. This led to accusations of infidelity, which came to a proverbial head yesterday when Woods admitted to “transgressions,” which is widely being interpreted as a confirmation of the rumors. It’s a personal and professional mess, but his sponsors aren’t backing down, even if the late-night talk show circuit is having a bit of fun at his expense. personally I haven’t been paying attention to cnn lately, busy playing MW2.
