“It’s easier to iterate on a product than to bring something totally new.” Says Remedy’s Matias Myllyrinne. It must be true given the fact that Remedy’s last released game was Max Payne 2 back in 2003. Ever since the release of that game seven years ago Remedy has been working on Alan Wake; a project that has undergone so much change in its style and scope. Myllyrinne explained a... more. -

My prayers for an online game that breaks the mold most games seem to be cast in these days have finally been answered as of Feb. 16th, 2010. Rebellion Studios have released “Alien vs Predator” for the PS3, Xbox360, and PC. Now some of you may recall the 1999 release of the AVP for PC and most of you nerds should recall the movies that inspired this game. Though not a huge fan of the series, ... more. -

It would be a fair assumption to say that the games industry has been neglecting the western genre. We had Gun a few years ago and most recently there was Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood release just this past summer. This April you'll be able to experience a sandbox style Western that utilizes the same engine applied in Grand Theft Auto 4 (Euphoria and RAGE) from Rockstar San Diego. The ... more. -
The RPG Culture

It may have been Final Fantasy, Fire Emblem, or maybe even Pokemon. Or perhaps very recently that you started to take interest in this genre of gaming. Role-playing games have been one of the more popular genres in gaming for almost two decades now ever since fans of the old Dungeons and Dragons board game started to play video games. After all that's what RPG's were created to duplicate -- Dungeo... more.

Do you hear that? Yep, those are the sounds of ribs cracking, teeth shattering, and fireballs crackling. This is the complete history of the fighting game genre. OK so I can't squeeze the entire history into 1000 words so really, it's a snapshot of the the major events. If you’re wondering about my credentials let me just say I’ve been playing fighters since I was six. Some of my earliest me... more. -

I have not been fair to Mario over the years. I have had a Wii and Super Mario Galaxy for quite some time now. Never interested or bored enough to actually play the game, it has sat in a dark corner of my home collecting dead skin cells. Having recently returned to Mario 3, a game I played and enjoyed throughout my childhood, on Nintendo8.com, I decided it was time to give Super Mario Galaxy a cha... more. -

This past week Sony has announced their motion control peripheral will be releasing this Fall on the Playstation 3. This release will coincide with the Natal release for the Xbox 360. Analysts are saying Sony put it up for release that season so they would have better competition against the peripheral-less motion controlled Natal.
