Borderlands 2 details revealed

It was only last week that we broke the news that Borderlands 2 was on the way. Now thanks to GameInformer we can reveal some juicy details about Gearbox’s upcoming sequel.

The 2012 shooter will retain its 4 player co-op, however, this time the protagonists from the first game will be NPC’s meaning that their will be 4 completely new classes/players.  The first of which is Salvador (pictured above), the gunzerker who can dual wield any weapon in the game.

Eridium is the games new currency which you can use to buy weapon and vehicles upgrades whilst the three branch upgrade system als remains.

Dynamic story missions aim to improve storytelling. The narrative is shaped around your approach to an objective, the magazine says.

NPC’s are improved and will be more interactive with players and the enemy A.I. itself will be improved.

Interestingly, as previously revealed there will be new weapons, what is interesting is that none of the weapons in the first game will feature in the sequel. Finally, love them or hate them but the Claptrap’s will be back!
