Assassin’s Creed: Embers

The logo shown above is from Ubisofts animation studio. I cannot recall another work of their studio. Assassin’s Creed: Embers is my first exposure to the studios work. I like the art direction, it reminds a bit of a Nicktoons animation called Skyland (Which I loved).

Before I go any further into Assassin’s Creed: Embers. I want to remind you of the scene in the Assassin’s Creed: Revelations trailer. Towards the very end where Ezio is shown escorted out a window along a wooden plank,

with a noose around his neck.

Remember this part? Good. This trailer ended leaving us uncertain of Ezio’s fate. Did he escape? Plunging through the air, as his brothers before him, performing the leap of faith? Did his escape attempt fail, and ultimately hung? Assassin’s Creed: Embers seems to me to have answered this. Ezio is shown aged further than he looked in the Assassin’s Creed: Revelations CG trailer, and gameplay trailers.

The trailer for the animated short Assassin’s Creed: Embers included in the signature edition exclusive to Gamestop,

also shows Ezio’s wife, and daughter.

There are even moments shown emphasizing Ezio not having been an active assassin for some time. Here he looks free from worries in the company of his wife (who is giving him a warm kiss), and his daughter.

Apparently Ezio survives the events of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.

Finds a place to live, and does so for some time. Long enough to marry, settle down, have a child, and raise her, for what looks like about eight to ten years. The trailer does introduce an impending danger, centered around Ezio, and his family. Nothing further is shown. We are simply left with a message from Ezio himself (who has been narrating the trailer from the beginning). Ezio: I knew I would not have enough time to do everything. Now I worry I do not have enough time to do anything.
